I get the sneaking suspicion that they MIGHT wish for us to buy a new Wacom tablet. I don't buy any of their corporate BS about why the tablets won't work. Like with the ADB to USB issue - which seemed more like an actual PROBLEM - a guru was nice enough to write an open-source driver enabling the older ADB tablets. So I guess we can just HOPE the gurus might find it in their hearts to help us avoid Wacom's obvious 'money grab' on this issue and get the tablets working again.

Any way to fast-track this to the gurus? Wacom is totally just screwing us by abandoning their 'older' tablets. As if Apple let them know exactly what was going on so that they could fine-tune the tablets they still CHOOSE to support so that the poor things could still operate within mighty Yosemite. Never happened.

Then they screwed me the first time, so I went with the Graphire 3, but still spent about $400 for the 'full size' version. Now, if I'm forced to buy another one, I'm just gonna buy the cheapest POS they make.

I installed the driver, then the tablet worked though as everyone has mentioned, I couldn't open control panel to set my preferences. I copied the Wacom preferences file from my iMac running System 10.6 to the corresponding folder on the MacBook Air. If you disconnect it, and then re-connect, it has lost the changes made in that preferences file. I haven't tried it yet, but I expect that if the Mac sleeps, or is switched off the same would happen.

I was hoping it would be a permanent change. Does anyone know how to make the driver retain the changes? AND, I need to make this work on Yosemite too. Is it possible to copy that pref file to a pendrive, and put it into the same place in the Yosemite OS?

I had no issues with Yosemite, fresh install on MacBook Pro and iMac 2011, also no issues on it on Retina iMac 5K. Using Intuos 4 and Cintiq 21UX. Tried Photoshop, Zbrush and Sketchbook Pro.

No issues with sleep mode. Also, I can confirm my friend has no issues with Intuos Pro on 2011 iMac. While Wacom drivers have been problematic (on Windows as well), it has been a smooth ride with Yosemite for me. Did you try a clean reinstall of Yosemite? I had some brush lag after upgrading from Mavericks, but a clean install (erasing the partition with Disk Utility before installing) fixed my problems. I found the answer! After much frustration after searching for a. working driver for my older intuos4, I finally found a solution. Some people suggested trying the European version of Wacom's site and finding a driver. I also tried a few obscure and risky third party sites that offered 'working' drivers. Nothing was working and I was ready to destroy my tablet and my Mac all because Wacom was making things difficult.

Well, somehow I stumbled across the answer. All you have to do is google 'Wacom Legacy Drivers'. They evidently had this hidden section of their site that is not linked anywhere from within. They have a whole list of drivers dating back several years worth.

I tried a year old one, and it wasn't compatable with Yosemite, but then I tried one that was just two versions older than the current one and BINGO! My tablet works and the Preferences Pane works in System Preferences. All the options are there like the where on Mavericks. Now we can all put our pitchforks and torches away and Wacom gets to live another day after all. I have a Wacom Intuos4 tablet and experienced the issue of a non-working preference pane after upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite and installing the latest Wacom driver (Driver 6.3.11-3a).

The pane would load in the system preferences, but it was not recognizing the tablet and prompted me to either restart or reinstall the drivers, neither of which worked. Uninstalling the tablet software and re-installing a legacy driver eventually worked for me. Setup: Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Intuos GD-0608-R (connected to serial port.) Driver 6.10.6 (pro610-6int.exe) (The one linked in Scherer's post. You can also get it by searching the European Wacom site; it won't appear in the Americas Wacom site.) Here is the stream lined version of what I did. Before starting, download the international driver version 6.10.6. And uninstall all 'Wacom' and 'Tablet/Pen Tablet' entries using 'Control PanelUninstall a program'.

Also, unplug any other tablets. Shut down the computer and connect the tablet to the serial port and plugged in tablet power supply. Turn the computer back on. (At this point the tablet showed up in 'Device Manager' under 'Other devices' as 'WACOM GD'. Because the computer recognized the device, I didn't have to make any changes to the registry.) 4.
